Level II — Peter, Bayo & Zhang
The Three Crowns Tavern

The Three Crowns — Minutes Later

Hisham lies still. Three men step from the shadows.

The commotion settles into a grim quiet. Hisham's body has been moved to a back room. You sit at the table, shaken — when three men materialise from the shadows of the tavern and take seats around you.

They are sailors. They look tired. And they look frightened.

Peter — English Sailor

"You are Pauline. Hisham spoke of you. We were there — in Singapore. We all took that oath together. We grieve for him."

Bayo — West African Sailor

"We will each tell you one thing — in exchange for half the treasure, if you find it. But we cannot help beyond that. If the Zombie Pirate's agents see us talking to you, we are dead. Do you understand?"

Zhang — Chinese Navigator

"One more thing. Before you sail — check the map is not a forgery. Verify the longitude and latitude of Kingston. Confirm the treasure island lies south-east. And crack the coded inscription. The Zombie Pirate is known to plant false maps to trap treasure hunters."

🔍 Your Task

Question each sailor — they will each reveal one fact. Use the elimination grid below to deduce which sailor has the map, what it is hidden in, and where on the ship.

The map is hidden in a container (water cask, kit bag, or sailor hat) that is stored in a location aboard their ship, the Sea Doggie at Wapping Wharf.

Check the Map

⚓ Verify the Map's Authenticity

Zhang warned you: the Zombie Pirate plants false maps to trap seekers. Check these three things before you trust it.

Check 1 — Kingston Coordinates
The map shows Kingston, Jamaica at 17.9°N, 76.8°W. This matches known charts — coordinates are correct.
Check 2 — Treasure Island Direction
The treasure island is marked south-east of Kingston, bearing 135°. Consistent with known pirate routes.
🔐
Check 3 — Secret Code
The map bears an inscription in cipher: GLYHUW
Each letter has been shifted forward by 3. Decode it to confirm authenticity.
