Larry Birkhead bought some of his ex's lingerie at an auction, for their daughter.

Larry Birkhead, former boyfriend of Anna Nicole, spent nearly $3,000 at a celebrity auction, Saturday, getting the lingerie that the former *Playboy* model wore in a shoot that she was in for the magazine, reported the Associated Press.  
  
The "heirlooms" were bought for the daughter that the couple had together before Smith passed away. Birkhead said that he is trying to make sure that his daughter, Dannielynn, has something to remember the playmate by.  
  
"I have a lot of history I have to put together that she doesn't really know about. *Playboy* was such a big part of Anna's career," he told the Associated Press. Among the items bought was a pink bustier for $1,800 and a white negligee that he got for $1,000 at the auction that was run by Julien's Auctions and was held at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip, reported the AP.  
  
Custody was awarded to him after Smith died of overdose in February 2007 at the age of 39. He has hopes that the items will help his daughter learn more of her mother when she is old enough. He told AP, "You know, it's not something I can show today, but something down the road. It's not going to be in any bedtime stories anytime soon."
