7/9/2008 in Shaniqua Tompkins, 50 Cent's ex, is suing the rapper for $50 million in damages. Stevi Cosh Shaniqua Tompkins, 50 Cent's ex, is suing the rapper for $50 million in damages from a fire that destoyed the Long Island, NY home in which she was living in May of this year. Tompkins's lawyer, Paul Catsandonis, has disclosed that his client will be suing the rapper for $50 million. He also said, "There wasn't a written contract but an expressed oral agreement, which is recognized in the New York courts. They decided years ago that she was going to be the domestic partner, and she was going to provide the domestic services while he devoted all his time to becoming a Hip-Hop artist. Whatever profits he was able to achieve would be divided equally, and he had promised her and their son that they could live in the house. He breached that contract." Tompkins has accused 50 of burning down the home himself in order to avoid honoring an agreement between them. Since the incident, she has filed for a restraining order against him. The former couple have a 10-year-old son together, however, following the lawsuit and restraining order, 50 countered with a $20 million dollar defamation and family court suit. The court hearing for the fire begins on 15th July where the NY State Supreme Court will hear the argument to settle the insurance proceeds.
