10/1/2004 in The next James Bond film has come to an unexpected standstill. Dino-Ray Ramos Fans of British spy James Bond may have to wait one more year for the 21st film of the franchise. The next mission for the debonair secret agent was originally supposed to be released in 2005 of November. The film is now expected to be in theatres in summer or November 2006. Variety has said that the film was delayed because MGM has yet to find a director. Pierce Brosnan, who has been Mr. 007 in the past 4 films including the last "Die Another Day", is not confirmed for the role. "Currently he's not under contract to play James Bond," according to a studio spokesman. "Once we get a director then I think we can get into casting." Brosnan, the fifth actor to play Bond joins a list of secret agent alumni including Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton. Other names that have been suggested to take over the role are Ewan McGregor, Eric Bana, Hugh Jackman, Jude Law and Orlando Bloom.
