Taylor Lautner has been selected to stay on.

Fear not, *Twilight* fans: Taylor Lautner will be back for *New Moon*, the highly-anticipated sequel to 2008's *Twilight*.  
  
It has been confirmed on Wednesday that Lautner was asked to return for the filming of *New Moon*. No word yet on how he will be asked or made to physically match the Jacob of the book.  
  
There had been a question of whether or not Lautner would be invited back, as his character, Jacob, is supposed to morph into a larger, meatier character for *New Moon*. Alternate names had been bandied around, including Michael Capon, a young Los Angeles resident who some believed would be the next Jacob.  
  
Capon's Facebook page had reportedly included messages and status updates indicating his interest in the role.
