2/13/2009 in NAACP Image Award Winners: Jennifer Hudson dominates. Sophie Duensing Jennifer Hudson's award-winning week just got even better. Hudson was the big winner of the night at the 40th NAACP Image Awards, taking home three trophies. She won top honors for best new artist, as well as awards in the duo and group/collaboration category, EW.com reports. Hudson also rocked the stage with her performance of "Impossible Dream." Former "Dreamgirls" co-star Beyonce opened the awards with "Halo," and also took home a trophy for best female artist. Other notable winners include Taraji P. Henson for her role in "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button." Comedian Tyler Payne had a golden night. Payne co-hosted the event with actress Halle Berry, and his television show "House of Payne" won best comedy series. "House of Payne" also captured awards in other categories with LaVan Davis taking best actress in a comedy series and Lance Gross taking best actor in a comedy series.
