Sophie Duensing Comedian Demetri Martin's skit comedy show, "Important Things with Demetri Martin," debuted Wednesday night on Comedy Central and was the channel's most watched debut since "Chappelle's Show" in 2003, The Live Feed reports. The premiere brought in 2.4 million viewers. Demetri Martin dropped out of NYU School of Law to pursue a career in comedy. He was a staff writer for "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" and a corresponder for "The Daily Show With Jon Stewart." He is quoted on Comedy Central's website saying "I'm very excited to be at Comedy Central and looking forward to making one of the top shows of all time – ever. Also, I need to clean my apartment and thank Jon Stewart." Martin has plenty to be thankful for. His debut beat out his former employee "Daily Show," in ratings Wednesday night.
