The late Paul Newman has always been regarded as America's soul in spirit. With the passage House Resolution H.R. 18, he'll now be regarded as America's hero in fact.

According to the AP, the bill honors Newman, who died last year, for his "humanitarian works and incomparable talents . . . who will never be forgotten."  
  
Through his non-profit company, Newman's Own, the actor financed over $250 million worth of gifts to charity over two decades. In addition, Newman also founded a series of camps for children with life threatening illnesses, known as "Hole in the Wall" camps.  
  
Over his 50 years in movies and television, Newman made a name for iconic roles in such films as *Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid* and *Cool Hand Luke.*  
  
In addition to being an actor and humanitarian, Newman was also a veteran of WWII, serving on the USS Bunker Hill during the Okinawan campaign.
