Stephen Ruback After sustaining an unfortunate knee injury while training to compete in the eighth season of ABC's reality television program, *Dancing with the Stars*, *Access Hollywood* co-host Nancy O'Dell went under the knife for arthroscopic knee surgery last Friday. She is now preparing herself to go through physical rehabilitation. As a result of her unfortunate injury, O'Dell was forced to withdraw from this year's season of *Dancing with the Stars* before ever competing on television along with her partner Tony Dovolani. However, she hopes to return to action in a future season after her knee is fully rehabilitated. The *Access Hollywood* co-host was replaced on this season's *Dancing with the Stars* television show by Melissa Rycroft, who is most well-known for her appearances on ABC's *The Bachelor*. Rycroft has performed exceptionally well thus far on the program and is considered to be one of the favorites to win it all. According to O'Dell, she was awake throughout the duration of her surgical procedure and she watched the surgery being performed on a monitor. O'Dell commented on her surgery on *Access Hollywood*'s blog by writing, "Surgery on my knee is done and over with and it went well! I am so happy as I am ready to start rehabbing my knee and get it back to normal!"
