Though the legendary actress reportedly was suffering from cancer, it is not entirely clear if that is what ended her illustrious life.

A legend has passed this weekend. Bea Arthur, 86, died this week at the age of 86. Arthur may be best remembered for her role on *Golden Girls*, though she had a long career before and after that popular show.  
  
Arthur was known for playing no-nonsense, even give 'em hell characters, who could give just as good as they got. She also guest starred in many television shows over the years, including *Malcolm in the Middle*.  
  
Arthur was in such productions as the incredibly well-received *Fiddler on the Roof*, in addition to the television series, *Maude*.  
  
This is one lady who will be missed.
