6/4/2009 in Whitney Houston to release new album Sarah Folmar After years of ridicule over weight loss, drugs and Bobby Brown, Whitney Houston seems to be on the right path to reclaiming her once brightly shining star. Houston is scheduled to make an impressive comeback sometime this September, according to Reuters. Houston has not released an album in over six years, and has been in the news more for her personal life than for her musical career. Houston will collaborate with R. Kelly and Akon for some tracks on the album, and Artista Records will be distributing the highly anticipated compilation, Rolling Stone reported. In more recent years, Houston has appeared on "Being Bobby Brown," her former husband, Bobby Brown's, reality television show, where she gained much criticism for her bizarre antics. Fans accused the star of excessive drug use, and many stopped watching the show because of Houston's actions. The album, which is currently untitled, should give fans the desired songs they have been waiting for since her downhill spiral began.
