2/18/2005 in Private honeymoon photos sold to Us Weekly magazine by resort staff Brenna Boyce Pop star Britney Spears is fuming over this week's cover of the tabloid magazine Us Weekly featuring private honeymoon photos of Spears and husband Kevin Federline. Resort staff took the photos during the couple's October honeymoon in the Fiji Islands, but promised that they would only be used to make a scrapbook for the couple and wouldn't be sold. The staff members attempted to sell the photos to other news outlets including Star Magazine, but were turned away out of respect for Spears' privacy. Spears released a statement earlier this week explaining, "Kevin and I chose a resort location where we were promised absolute privacy and seclusion. Unfortunately, staff members took photographs of us, which we allowed them to take once we were assured they were being taken only for private use in a scrap book they gave us as a souvenir." Us Weekly decided to run the photos under the headline "Britney's Private Album!" stating, "Coming from a celebrity who sold pictures of both her wedding and her stepdaughter, it's unlikely the issue here is privacy. Could it be that Britney is seeing red after not seeing the green from these photos? Britney Spears should start a magazine if she'd like to dictate her own coverage."
