For example, there was never a screen play adapted for the movie from Frank Miller's graphic novels of the same name. Actors used text from the books. Also, Miller received a possessory credit that is rare for authors and is usually afforded to directors and better known authors such as Stephen King. Director Robert Rodriguez quit the Directors Guild after the organization objected to Rodriguez sharing directing credit. He put Miller's name before his own in the "directed by" credit.
