Roy Cureton Joaquin Phoenix, Oscar nominated actor for his role in Gladiator and upcoming star of the Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line, checked into an undisclosed rehab center for alcohol abuse about two weeks ago, according to his publicist Susan Patricola. Phoenix said he hoped that by admitting his problem he could inspire others with a similar problem to seek help. Phoenix's bother, River Phoenix, died of a drug overdose at the age of 23 in 1993. Walk the Line is set to be released in November.
