9/15/2009 in California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger adjusts legislature's plan to try and help the state meet its clean energy target more efficiently. TheCelebrityCafe.com Staff The state of California is in the process of implementing a clean energy plan that would reduce greenhouse gas emissions to levels that existed approximately 20 years ago by the year 2020 while simultaneously reducing carbon emissions and establishing car pollution regulations. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has modified the plans in an attempt to allow power companies to receive more electricity from outside of California. Reuters is reporting that the revisions Governor Schwarzenegger has made will assist the state in meeting its clean energy goals in a more efficient manner since it will be easier for California to import power. Schwarzenegger's modifications are expected to keep the expansion of renewable energy simple and manageable. The original legislature plan called for solar thermal plants that undoubtedly would have presented obstacles in terms of regulation. Governor Schwarzenegger has clarified that he is going to veto the originally proposed plan that was created by legislature. After signing the modified version of the bill that includes provisions that should help the state achieve its long-term clean energy aspirations, Schwarzenegger commented on why he viewed the original plan to be inadequate. What they have proposed is a job killer. It also would give us a limited chance of reaching our goal \[to reduce greenhouse gas emissions\]. It also would raise rates and is protectionism to the highest level."
