It didn't hurt that power pusher's Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry were in town promoting and backing the project. Earlier this year "Precious" took first prize at the Sundance Movie Festival and now picks up momentum to be a solid player for the upcoming award season. The runner ups were "Mao's Las Dance" and "Mic Macs". For documentary feature "The Topp Twins" and director Leanne Pooley took home the first place prize for his look at the New Zealand lesbian country western duo. The Midnight Madness prize went to the Australian teen horror flick "The Loved Ones" directed by Sean Byrne. The runner-up was Michael and Peter Spierig's "Daybreakers".
