Since the King of Pop's death on June 15, sales of the artists' albums have reached record proportions, some of which may be the highest sales of the year. In the three weeks following his death, sales climbed to 2.3 million copies of Jackson's collection. Later this fall Sony Pictures will release the documentary "Michael Jackson's This Is It," featuring rehearsals for Jackson's comeback tour, which was scheduled to begin this past July. A double disk CD featuring unreleased tracks will accompany the film. The future may hold similar albums as industry insiders have indicated a large supply of unreleased material. The Jackson estate will no doubt continue to be a moneymaker, which is good for Katherine Jackson and her grandchildren; Mrs. Jackson was recently granted allowance from the estate and was dependent on her son for most of his life.
