10/7/2009 Blakely Slater Fans of the NBC show can now get the same experience at Utah spa facility. NBC Universal's newest project is changing the common conception of a resort from a place of rest and relaxation to one of exercise and dieting. The "Biggest Loser" franchise has expanded to include not only a Wii and Nintendo DS game, but also an entire spa facility in southern Utah. Lovers of the show who wish they could undergo that same exhilarating torture can now fulfill that desire at The Biggest Loser Resort and Fitness Ridge. For $2,000 a week, weight-loss hopefuls will be provided with a private room, instruction through six hours of exercise, three meals a day, and expert advice from dieticians and counselors. Like show participants, "vacationers" will be limited to 1,200 calories a day and pushed to their limits in various fitness activities, such as hiking in Snow Canyon State Park. The resort's [website](http://www.thebiggetloserresort.com) asserts "The Biggest Loser Resort at Fitness Ridge provides the most affordable, calorie-controlled, structure program in the weight loss resort industry." A slide-show playing on the home screen features photos of classes in action, a gigantic swimming pool, hiking trails, and a sleek woman getting a hot-stone massage. That's right, massage. It's not all sweat and pain at the Ridge; massages, salon services, facials, and acupuncture are offered for those who still want a to retain a little bit of that typical vacation feel.
