Twitter can now boast of an official "Twilight" account gracing its website.

Previously, Twitter had been inundated with unofficial "Twilight" accounts made by fans, but now (hold your breath!) an official "Twilight" film page has been added to Twitter.  
  
For the page's very first tweet, director of "The Twilight Saga: New Moon," Chris Weitz did the honors.  
  
"Hi! Welcome to the official New Moon twitter account. This is my first ever tweet so be gentle with me."  
  
For his second tweet, he decided to release some information about the official run time of New Moon.  
  
"The final run time of The Twilight Saga: New Moon is 2 hours and ten minutes!"  
  
The "Twilight" account has been up and tweeting for just over six hours, but it already has more than 22,000 followers, and the number is rapidly increasing every minute. With New Moon's release just over a month away, we can expect millions of diehard fans tuning in to get the latest updates and sneak peeks!  
  
The "Twilight" Twitter page already has a handful of updates, including a behind-the-scenes shot of the "New Moon" sound mixing stage.  
  
Some of the official accounts on the page belong to Ashley Green (Alice Cullen), Peter Facinelli (Carlisle Cullen) and Michael Sheen (Aro). The three leading stars have not yet joined.
