Baldwin was quoted in Men's Journal as saying, "I don't have any interest in acting anymore," reports USA Today. He said he'd like to end his career at the wrap party of "30 Rock." According to Reuters, Baldwin said that he considers his film career as a thing of the past, and doesn't consider it to be a particularly successful juncture in his life. He started acting on television in the 1980s and was even nominated for an Academy Award for "The Cooler." Still, he has said that he believes the goal of movie-making to be starring in a movie that is driven by one's performance, and helping the film to reach either critical or commercial success. When asked about well-known films he has appeared in, he acknowledges the box office achievements, but never credits himself as the reason for the success. Baldwin didn't say what he would do besides acting, but it seems the actor is definitely seriously considering retiring from the field. Let's just hope he doesn't pull a Joaquin Phoenix-type move if he does so.
