The morning news show co-anchor said she will be stepping down after 10 years with "Good Morning America." She will be anchoring for the "World News," replacing Charles Gibson, who will retire on December 18. Sawyer began her career as a State Department correspondent, followed by working at "60 Minutes," and ending at the ABC network in 1989 as anchor for "Primetime Live." Sawyer, who's been anchoring for the ABC morning show for 10 years, began working at "Good Morning America" as a temporary position and ended up working on 2,881 shows. The news anchor is expected to be replaced by George Stephanopoulos, host of "This Week." For the remaining of the week ABC's "Good Morning America" will be running highlights of Sawyer's years of working at the show. Sawyer will begin anchoring "World News" on December 21.
