Morgan Ribar With all the buzz surrounding the latest James Cameron film, "Avatar" so raises the question of whether or not it will be able to match the epic proportions "Titanic" did over a decade ago. Cameron, who directed movie heavyweights "Titanic" and the first two "Terminator" movies, has sure proven that "Avatar" has the potential to hold its own at the box office with the amount of money and time spent making the film. Cameron started brainstorming for "Avatar" as early as 1994. Even with the price tag on the movie reaching well over the $200 million of "Titanic" will all of the costs be just a smoke screen? Will the film even please viewers? Absolutely, the movie has a little bit of something for everyone. It is a love story wrapped up in an epic action flick. 20th Century Fox agrees with Cameron that although it may have a lot of potential, they do not expect the same kind of response to it that there was for "Titanic." They will however, guarantee it as a hit.
