Avatar is a groundbreaking movie, full of action, adventure, and romance. With a budget of about $300 million, director James Cameron formed a rain forest planet, created a functioning language, and used new cinematic technologies, all to tell a story whose underlying themes seem to be imperialism and biodiversity.
