Comedic actor Don Knotts died on Friday in Beverly Hills.

Actor Don Knotts passed away Friday night at a hospital in Los Angeles. He was 81. He died from pulmonary and respiratory complications and suffered from lung cancer. His family and friend Andy Griffith were by his side near his death.  
  
Knotts is most known for his roles on classic television shows. He was loved by many for playing Deputy Barney Fife on "The Andy Griffith Show." He also made audiences laugh as landlord Mr. Furley on "Three's Company." Knotts appeared in a variety of television shows and films. He most recently voiced the character of Mayor Turkey Lurkey in the animated film "Chicken Little."
