The show's creator, Glen A. Larson, will executive produce and write the film adaptation. Larson said that the film will begin production next year. He wants to make sure the show's principal audience will be able to see the film, so he intends to make it a PG-13 rating. There is no word on whether or not the show's original star, David Hasselhoff, will star in the film. "Knight Rider" aired on NBC from 1982-1986. The show was based around an injured cop named Michael Long who is helped by millionaire Wilton Knight. Knight helps him get better and gives him a new face and name. Long changes his name to Michael Knight and is given a talking car named KITT that helps him fight crime.
