Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson are separating.

Actress Kate Hudson and husband Chris Robinson are the latest actress and rock star couple to separate. The couple was married for six years and has a 2 1/2-year-old son, Ryder Russell.  
  
Hudson's publicist made it official by saying, "Kate Hudson and Chris Robinson have confirmed that they are separated."  
  
The couple dated for seven months before they were married on New Year's Eve in 2000 at the home of Kate's mom, Goldie Hawn, and her partner Kurt Russell.  
  
The 27-year-old actress was made famous for her Academy Award nominated role as Penny Lane in "Almost Famous." Hudson was most recently seen in this summer's film "You, Me and Dupree." Robinson is mostly known as being the lead singer of the band The Black Crowes. The 39-year-old rocker went solo in 2002.
