Courtney Thompson Stars entered the Global Green pre-Oscar party on an emerald green carpet, in support of more energy efficient cars, homes and lifestyles. *Pirates of the Caribbean* star, Orlando Bloom, is a big fan of going green and hopes to influence fans to jump on the bandwagon. He has solar panels on his London home and uses energy-saving appliances. "I got a really sweet birthday message from a bunch of girls who said, 'I'm unplugging my mobile phone charger and using energy-efficient light bulbs, and I'm really into the environment,'" he said. "I sent a note over the Web, and said, 'You know, I never do this, but thank you so much.'" Also in attendance were Maroon 5, who performed, James Blunt, Penelope Cruz and Andrea Bowen. It's been a strong year for climate awareness, said Global Green USA President, Matt Petersen. This has been fueled by the success of Al Gore's documentary, *An Inconvenient Truth*.
