April 25, 2021 at 03:38 AMFor a the very very just starting newbie, would you recommend traditional or simplified character learning if the goal is to eventually become fluent enough to read newspapers, magazines etc. Does one or the other make a long term comprehension difference?
jaygid
May 11, 2021 at 03:32 AMIt largely depends on who you intend to primarily communicate with. In mainland China the simplified character set is primarily used; in Taiwan traditional is used.

February 07, 2020 at 04:56 PMGlad you like it! Speaking of "building up vocabulary", we have a series called "character mind map" which also helps students to build up vocabulary, too. Maybe you'll be interested in it. https://www.chinesepod.com/explore?search=character%20mind%20map

January 21, 2020 at 01:23 PMHow can add the lesson's vocabulary to my vocabulary manager. I watched this youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XryhIbQEh18 and based on it, I was under the impression that I could send all the words in a lesson to the vocabulary manager. However, if I click on the vocabulary button in this lesson, there is no button to do that. What is the problem?

January 21, 2020 at 04:38 PMHi there,
Is your page white and blue (new website)? Because right now we are still optimizing it, so there might be something missing. If you want to add the lesson's vocabulary, you can go to this page:
https://www.chinesepod.com/choice
You can choose to use the old website (gray and white), and then you'll find the button to add the vocabulary. Besides, if you have something to suggest about our new website, you can click the following link and leave your feedback there:

August 23, 2017 at 12:42 PMFirst Comment !! -- Hey this sounds great. I just subscribed to ChinesePod and this #ATWTI thing is perfect for me because obtaining an intermediate level of speaking Mandarin is my goal. BTW - The cultural insights embedded in these videos are great. Definitely an essential part of studying Mandarin.
